In a major speech today in New Hampshire by Mitt Romney who is trying to boost his campaign after his poor showing in Iowa as well as illustrate his vast foreign policy experience he said:

Veni, Vidi, Vici

Later on, in response to some questions from the audience he elaborated a bit explaining that actually it was his great grandfather who was the victor against Pharnaces II of Pontus in the Battle of Zela in Zile, but had he actually been born in time he would have been there. He also said that John McCain was on Pharnaces side which therefore showed that McCain couldn't be trusted. When reminded that this event happened over 2000 years ago and therefore it couldn't have been such a close relative he emphasized the strength and purity of his family lineage - as evidence for his support for family values. A Huckabee supporter asked how could a good Christian support someone from the Roman Empire but he explained how he became enlightened about the evils of Romans based upon his experience as Governor where he saw the domination of the Italian politicians in Massachusetts. Another point he made while giving evidence for his ancestral relationship was that his own religion celebrates Latter Day Saints and one of his distant relatives was a son of Venus who certainly was a Latter Day God.

I was inspired when thinking about Romney's claiming he'd marched with Martin Luther King and his father in Detroit and then later saying it depended upon the meaning of "saw"; and his other self-contradictory and stupid statements.
