For our first afternoon in Myanmar we went to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon (was Rangoon when Myanmar was Burma. I used to think a Pagoda was a building but this was a complex of many structures of varying types of architecture including several gold stupas, lots of Buddhas, statues, carvings, and places to worship.  It was an absolutely incredible amazing place. It was a bit like being in DisneyLand/World but this was real.  Interestingly enough, Myanmar is moving the capital from Yangon to Naypyidaw and they have have apparently built an exact replica there so why not Disney?
