Bogota Casa de Moneda

We visited the Bogota Casa de Moneda. It part of a museum complex and is sited in a nice house with a large courtyard as is typical in many of the old buildings in Colombia. In its early days it was the mint. It started operation in 1622.
It has lots of displays and information about the history of making coins and bills in Colombia. Some of this dates back to the Spanish occupation where they were exploting the presence of gold and copper.
