Hawaii and California

We are back from a splendid 3 1/2 week trip to Hawaii and California. This will result in a bunch of posts when I start dealing with/selecting the 1,100+ pictures that I took (not really quite that many since sometimes I use my camera's burst mode).

We started out on the Big Island in Hawaii.
- A day in Hilo at the farmer's market, the Tsunami Museum, and the Botanical Garden.
- A week at a George Marshall Tropical Dance Vacation at Kalani retreat with The Great Bear Trio as the band and George Marshall calling. Several volcano trips among other things.

Then 5 days on Maui - again volcanos among other things

A long weekend in SanFrancisco doing a few touristy things and meeting up with numbers of friends for meals and socializing. Also got to the Queer Contra dance in Oakland.

Then on to Mendocino for a few days of looking at the ocean and the coastal headlands among other things.

And wrapping up at a great Queer Dance Camp at Monte Toyon in Aptos - near Santa Cruz. This was the eighth one and we have been to all of them except for last year when we were english Country Dancing and being a tourist in Florence, IT.

7 plane rides, 3 car rentals, 7 hotels/inns/retreat center, meals in lots of places including a sumptuous banquet at Mike and Aric's in SanFrancisco.

And Contra Dancing on 11 different days.
