My "old" iPod's disk was full and I had several more CDs I wanted to add to it; also the battery wasn't lasting long enough so I decided to replace it. A quick look at my records showed that I bought it in December 2003 and replaced its battery in Feb 2005 and June 2009. Not bad - 10 years.
I only use it at the gym. I got a new iPod Classic with its 160gb disk. A lot better than 32gb. It's swimming around in the old one's case so I need to replace that. This one clips onto my gym shorts, and is padded so when I occasionally drop it it is well protected.
